Govt working to book culprits involved in violence: CM

Imphal, January 10 2025:
Chief minister N Biren distributed skill certificates to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), who have undergone training under Centrally Sponsored State Managed (CSSM), component of Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) 4.0 Special Project for the year 2023-2024, successfully at chief minister's secretariat on Friday.
The certificates were distributed to 28 IDP residents from the relief camps at Sawombung and Mangolnganbi College, Ningthoukhong.
During the distribution programme, the chief minister appreciated the members of the Manipur Seva Samiti and Humanism Foundation for extending assistance in providing skill training to the internally displaced persons (IDPs).
The government had been working tirelessly to book those culprits who are involved in any violent act and causing harm to other people.
The government is also making arrangements for the safely return of the inmates to their respective homes located in areas where the law-and-order situation has improved, he added.
The chief minister informed that those who had undergone training in different fields successfully can avail collateral free financial assistance of Rs 50,000 provided by the government to start any small business related to the fields they had been trained.
Further, they can avail loan up to Rs 10,00,000 with 30 per cent grant, under schemes introduced by the state government, to expand their businesses.
Biren urged the people not to believe in any unfounded and unverified information which are politically inclined to create further unrest in the state.
Social welfare minister Heikham Dingo Singh, Patsoi MLA Sapam Kunjakeswor Singh, representatives from Humanism Foundation and Manipur Seva Samiti, residents from relief camps, among others were also present during the programme.
