No delay in utilization certificate submission for MGNREGS: Biswajit

Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Thongam Biswajit Singh said that there is no delay in submission of Utilisation Certificate for Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Act.
Briefing media persons this afternoon at his official quarter, the Minister said that so far there is no fund reduction for the second installment for MGNREGS from the Centre as there is no delay in submission of UC for first installment.
He stated that after introduction of the Electronic Fund Management System in wage payment for MGNREGS, all payments are moved directly from the State fund to the destination accounts which include both beneficiaries and vendor accounts for purchase of material component of the scheme.
The system has ensured transparency in the implementation of the scheme, he added.
The Minister further stated that the State received Rs 115 crore in April and additional Rs 80 crore in June for first tranche of funds for 2018-19 under MGNREGS.
Following the fund sanction, work implementation has already started; however, work implementation in few valley districts faced delays due to certain factors including the recent flood, strike of State employees and server failure of NIS which is an all India issue.
The Minister also stated that 'Khungang Chatse - Go To Village' Mission is delivering benefits of various Government schemes to the doorsteps of the beneficiaries.
He further appealed for cooperation from every section of the society in the developmental work undertaken by the Government.
