Imphal, June 09 2022:
Saddened by hate posts on social media that even depicted chief minister N Biren Singh as anti Kuki leader in the wake of arrest of Dr Mark T Haokip, Thadou Students' Association (TSA) has said that Thadou Inpi and organisations affiliated to it are unrelated with such hate posts which could incite communal enmity among different communities.
According to TSA president Michael Haokip, seemingly communal posts are being spread on various social media platforms after the arrest of Dr Mark Haokip by Manipur police and some of the posts even depict CM Biren Singh as anti-Kuki leader.
Condemning the posts, the TSA president appealed to all concerned not to upload or spread communal posts on social media regarding actions being taken up under 'War on Drugs' campaign since the past three months and the arrest of Dr Mark T Haokip.
Addressing a press conference at Manipur Press Club here organised by Thadou Inpi and its allied organisations on Thursday, Michael Haokip said that people should rather extend help to welfare activities being taken up by the present government led by CM Biren instead of trying to incite hatred among the different communities.
Meanwhile, appealing to the people to support the felicitation ceremony to be held at Kangpokpi on Friday to honour the second term of the chief minister N Biren led government, Michael Haokip called upon people and all concerned not to obstruct the ceremony.
He further appealed to people of Kangpokpi district to concentrate more on bringing development in the district as any issue could be settled through dialogue.
