National seminar on 'Doctrines of Sanamahism' held

The International Sanamahi Association (ISA) under the aegis of the department of art and culture organised a national seminar on "Doctrine/Teaching of Sanamahism" at GP Women's College, Imphal, on Sunday.
The function was attended by Manipur University, School of Humanities former dean professor Polem Nabachandra, ISA president Sapam Bheigya and Sahitya Premi Samiti president M Indramani as chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.
Speaking at the event, Sapam Bheigya informed that the seminar was organised to promote Sanamahism both nationally and internationally.
Like other religions such as Buddhism and Jainism, Sanamahism should have clear doctrines and teachings.
There is a need to discuss the practices, rituals, and activities that are permissible or not within the Sanamahism faith.
He also said that the seminar will enable bringing out the doctrines and teachings of Sanamhi religion to a large extent in addition to increasing the number of people following Sanamahi religion.
He stressed that if Sanamahi religion is to be included in academjc curricula at the undergraduate and graduate levels, it is essential to formalise its doctrines.
Therefore, he urged the government and other stakeholders to give greater attention to the protection and promotion of Sanamahi religion.
