Willong circle against handing over of NH-129/A to PWD

Senapati, April 08 2015 : Willong Circle villages have strongly protested against the proposed handing over of the newly recognized National Highway-129/A (Maram-Peren road) to State's PWD Department.

The villages have demanded the Maram-Peren road works to be handed over to Border Road Organization (BRO).

According to Willong Circle officials, the Maram Peren road now called NH-129/A has been effectively maintained by BRO/GREF for the past many years now.

It is the wishes of the people that the road be handed over to the BRO and not PWD as the department has a poor record witnessed on NH-2.Questioning the motives of the State Government, Willong Circle villages warned that any step of the State government to hand over the 108 km road stretch will not be accepted.
