CADA conducts awareness programme

Continuing its fight against drug abuse and alcohol, Coalition Against Drugs and Alcohol (CADA) organised an awareness programme under the theme "Impact of drugs and substance abuse on students" at Wangjing High School, Thoubal on Friday.
The academic awareness programme was attended by Hijam Priyokumar, president, CADA; Yengkhom Maimu, Head Master, Wangjing High School and Takhellambam (o) Purnima, secretary Women Affairs, CADA as the presidium members.
Speaking on the occasion as resource person, Geetchandra Mangang, secretary-general, CADA, stated that reason why many students turn to drugs and alcohol can be attributed to many factors, of which peer pressure and considering it as a glamour are common.
Saying that adolescence is a formative period of one's life, he urged the students to refrain from trying drugs and alcohol but focus on their studies to become valuable citizens.
