DGAR assures state youths job opportunities

Persons getting placement after getting skill development training are taking their first steps towards a successful life, said DGAR Lt Gen Vikash Lekhera.
He was attending a felicitation ceremony of trainees of skill development training organised by IGAR (South) in association with We Care Skill Solutions, held at the IGAR (S) Haflong Hall, Mantripukhri on Friday.
Speaking on the occasion, the DG informed that 23 (male and female) from among the trainee have got placement in different states.
This is their first steps towards a successful life, he said.
Though the number of trainees getting placement might be insignificant but it is a big achievement.
IGAR (S) will continue to work towards providing job opportunities for the talented and skilled youths of the state, he affirmed.
IGAR (S) Maj Gen Ravroop Singh, 9 Sector AR commander Brig Ananya Boral, 4 AR commandant and other senior officers, We Care Skill Solutions managing director Shreeman and programme instructors were also present at the event.
A total of 23 individuals, who have successfully secured employment in reputed hotels and retail chains, were felicitated during the event.
The Skill Development Programme, a collaborative effort between Assam Rifles and 'We Care Skill Solution,' commenced on June 10, 2024 .
Currently, 89 students, including 44 boys and 45 girls, are enrolled in the programme, which is being conducted under a Memorandum of Understanding signed between Assam Rifles and 'We Care Skill Solution' on June 3, 2024 .
According to PRO IGAR (S), the felicitated youngsters, comprising 11 boys and 12 girls, have secured employment with renowned hotels such as Leela Ambience Convention in Delhi, Royal Orchid in Bhuj, Taj Vivanta in Tawang, ITC Windsor in Bangalore, and Clarion Group in Kochi.
They are expected to join their respective positions by the last week of September.
Meanwhile, an additional 33 participants (16 boys and 17 girls) have undergone interviews and are likely to be placed by the end of their course on September 13, 2024, the release further said.
The DG congratulated the participants for their hard work and dedication in shaping their careers.
He praised IGAR (S) and We Care Skill Solution for their efforts to support Manipur's youth, whose futures have been affected by insurgency and ethnic violence.
He encouraged the youth to be sincere in their professions and wished them success in their future endeavours.
The Skill Development Programme, a pioneering initiative in the state, has provided employment opportunities to nearly 60 youths, the release added.
