V.Daihe is a deserter: MNPF

Imphal, July 05 2014 : Manipur Naga People's Front (MNPF) today denounced the press statement issued by Benjamin Mao, General Secretary Shepou Maram Region (SPMR) of NSCN-IM on July 3 last claiming that MNPF General Secretary V.Daihe @ Welson S/O.(L) PH.

In a statement issued today by Thomas Numai, Assistant Publicity Secretary of MNPF clarified V.Daihe is not the General Secretary of the MNPF, and demanded to know how many MNPF cadres have come with Daihe to surrender, as no Gen.

MNPF is surprised to learn the news of NSCN-IM (SPMR) welcoming of V.Daihe @ Welson who had discharged on January 8 last due to reasons including immoral behavior, financial irregularities and deceitful effort to form a new organization under the leadership of his elder brother V.Jocob.

MNPF further said that V.Daihe @ Welson was arrested by its cadres on 5 January last and kept in the custody for 139 days.

Subsequently, his discharge order was published in all ma jor newspapers of Manipur on February 13 last.

Recalling that V.Daihe @ Welson joined MNPF after a long request from his elder brother V.Jocob who was once Under Secretary of NSCN-IM, the statement pointed out that V.Jacob is still the mentor of his younger brother V.Daihe.

.VJocob also served as advisor of MNPF for sometime, but the MNPF made him discontinued for his treacherous thoughts, it narrated.

After Daihe's release from MNPF custody on June 25 last, his brother V.Jocob requested to give him a chance to remain in the organization.

Accordingly the Central Committee of the MNPF accepted his request and decided to send him to Manipur on Special Duty without any portfolio.

In the meantime, he deserted by stealing a motorcycle on the June 28 .

After a gap of three days, newspapers reported that he is warmly welcomed by NSCN-IM (SPMR), the MNPF's statement added.
