State logs 16 new cases, highest since Mar 14

Imphal, July 03 2022:
The state on Sunday reported 16 new positive cases of Covid-19, out of 126 samples tested in the last 24 hours and registered 12.70 per cent positivity rate.
Saturday also recorded highest daily test positivity rate since February 4 (13.27 per cent) and highest single day fresh case since April 4 (16 cases) .
The 16 fresh cases (4 male & 12 female) are residents of Imphal West (9), Imphal East (6) apd Chandel (1) districts.
Sunday also reported four recoveries from home isolation but no death case was reported in the last 24 hours.
Number of active cases rose to 43, out of which 34 are in home isolation.
Till date, the pandemic has claimed 2120 lives including seven CAPE personnel and infected 1,37,297 individuals including 5,014 CAPF personnel.
The virus has claimed lives of 194 vaccinated people, out of which 61 had received second doses of Covid vaccine.
There are 14 vacant beds available in JNIMS and 47 in RIMS.
So far, the state has recorded 11,509 positive cases and 118 fatalities since the beginning of the third wave of the pandemic.
The current month has reported 27 new positive cases and zero fatality.
The cumulative positivity rate for the current month is 10.38 per cent.
In the last 24 hours, 88 D-type oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities and 1030 vaccine doses administered taking the cumulative number of vaccinated population to 15,93,555, including 12,59,562 recipients of second dose and 1,12,435 precautionary dose.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (48786), Imphal East (30468), Thoubal (10161), Churachandpur (11054), Kangpokpi (3137), Tamenglong (3478), Bishnupur (9844), Senapati (2493), Ukhrul (3279), Kakching (6896), Chandel (2727), Noney (1161), Tengnoupal (1201), Jiribam (1111), Kamjong (1036), and Pherzawl (465) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 44,247 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 30,917 GPM.
Test rate has improved to 5,20,448 tests per million population against the national average of 6,13,530 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.54 per cent and the recovery rate came down to 98.42 per cent.
The cumulative positivity rate stands 8.50 per cent.
