Government to take another three months to finish Sanjethong bridge
House passes Rs 723,08,39,000 for six demands

Target completion date for Sanjenthong bridge has been provisionally extended till September 2015, Works Minister Dr Kh Ratankumar informed the State Assembly on Thursday.
Responding to a question raised by MLA Dr I Ibohalbi, minister Dr Ratankumar said that Sanjenthong bridge has been constructed with a target to complete it within one year as a special case.
Due to law and order situation and bandh and blockades it could not be finished within the stipulated time of June 2015, the minister said.
He said it has been provisionally extended till September 2015 and informed the House that the width of Sanjenthong bridge will be four lanes with separate footpath facilities.
Improvement work in the expanded Keishampat-Airport road started on March 30, 2015 will be completed in September 2015, Dr Ratankumar said while replying to another question of Dr I Ibohalbi.
In his reply to a question by MLA K Shyam, Education Minister M Okendro said eight rooms of the earlier Lilong High School building were constructed with fund provided under ACA scheme 2004-05 .
The District Council Engineering Cell, now MTDC Ltd, was the work agency for the construction, he informed and added that the estimated cost was Rs 18,81,000 and till now Rs 13,91,503 has been released to the work agency.
In the meantime, the House passed six demands amounting to Rs 723,08,39,000.The departments are Land Revenue, Stamps & Registration and District Administration (Rs 80,31,90,000), Environment & Forest (Rs 184,98,16,000), Youth Affairs & Sports (Rs 55,48,08,000), Irrigation & Flood Control (Rs 282,22,23,000), Horticulture & Soil Conservation (Rs 85,20,44,000) and Minorities & Other Backward Classes (Rs 34,87,58,000) .
MLAs Dr I Ibohalbi, L Ibomcha, K Shyam and Th Shyamkumar participated in the discussion and voting demands for grants.
