Speaker, UCM extend Ningol Chakkouba greetings

Manipur Legislative Assembly speaker Th Satyabrata extended greetings on the occasion of Ningol Chakkouba.
He described the festival as a "grand tribute" to women, arranged by each Manipuri family in honour of their married daughters and sisters.
"This traditional feast symbolises respect and appreciation for women's contributions to families and society," he said.
The speaker expressed hope that on this special day, women across the state would receive unconditional love from their families, with bonds of affection among parents, brothers, and sisters strengthened and cherished forever.
United Committee Manipur (UCM) also extended greetings to the people of the state, especially women, on the occasion of Ningol Chakkouba.
A UCM statement said Ningol Chakkouba is a festival that reaffirms the bond between married women and their maternal families, celebrated with a feast and presentation of gifts.
"On this special occasion, UCM extends best wishes to all Manipuris and prays that the festival may help bring prosperity, unity, peace, and mutual understanding among the indigenous communities," greeted the statement.
