Imphal, August 31 2015:
Zeliangrong United Clubs' Association Manipur Valley (ZUCAMV) has lauded Manipur Government for unveiling the bronze statue of freedom fighter Haipou Jadonang on August 29 at Haipou Jadonang Park at Keishampat in Imphal West.
A press note released by General Secretary of ZUCAMV said that the association also welcomes the Manipur Government for announcing that a bronze statue of Rani Gaidinliu and a museum cum library will also be constructed as a mark of respect and honour to the great leader and freedom fighter.
While appreciating State Government's initiative for inclusion of the history of Rani Gandinliu in the school textbooks of NCERT, the press note, taking serious note of some unwanted comments made by some Naga organisations on the issue, said that 'it is quite unfortunate that such comments are being made from amongst Naga communities against a personality of high status in the history of Nagas.' The press note sought to support and cooperation from all organisations, individuals and intellectuals in honouring Rani Gaidinliu and Haipou Jadonang in every aspect for the sake of future posterity.
