June sees highest monthly TPR in four months

The number of active cases of Covid-19 rose to 20 on Thursday as the state reported four new positive cases out of 80 samples tested in the last 24 hours and registered 5.19 per cent test positivity rate (TPR).
Meanwhile, June recorded the highest monthly positivity rate of 1.81 per cent in the last four months with detection of 32 cases out of 1771 samples tested.
After reporting 11.20 per cent and 7.61 per cent positivity rate in January and February this year respectively, the monthly positivity rate fell sharply in March, which recorded only 1.13 per cent.
April and May reported 1.58 per cent and 0.55 per cent positivity rate respectively.
The four fresh cases (2 male & 2 female) are residents of Imphal West (3) and Kangpokpi (1) districts.
Thursday also reported two recoveries.
All the 20 remaining active cases are in home isolation.
Till date, the pandemic has claimed 2120 lives including seven CAPF personnel and infected 1,37,270 individuals including 5,014 CAPF personnel.
The virus has claimed lives of 194 vaccinated people, out of which 61 had received second dose of Covid vaccine.
There are 14 vacant beds available in JNIMS and 47 in RIMS.
So far, the state has recorded 11482 positive cases and 118 fatalities since the beginning of the third wave of the pandemic.
The current month has reported 32 new positive cases and zero fatality.
A total of 103 D-type and 7 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities in the last 24 hours and 2122 vaccine doses administered on Monday which took the cumulative number of vaccinated population to 15,92,474, out of which 12,57,992 had received second doses and 1,10,762 had taken precautionary doses.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (48771), Imphal East (30458), Thoubal (10161), Churachandpur (11054), Kangpokpi (3137), Tamenglong (3478), Bishnupur (9843), Senapati (2493), Ukhrul (3279), Kakching (6896), Chandel (2726), Noney (1161), Tengnoupal (1201), Jiribam (1111), Kamjong (1036), and Pherzawl (465) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 44,238 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 30,883 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 5,20,364 tests per million population against the national average of 6,12,928 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.54 per cent and the recovery rate at 98.44 per cent.
The cumulative positivity rate stands 8.50 per cent.
