50 Manipuri poems in Gujarati at Gujarati E � Magazine

Nisyandan an e - magazine of Gujarati poetry had translated 50 Manipuri poetry into Gujarati language and published them on their web portal.
The web portal has a readership of more than 10 thousand at present.
Another two critical write ups titled Contemporary Manipuri Poetry by Naorem Bidyasagar and Brief History of Manipuri Poetry by Naorem Bidyasagar were also translated into Gujarati and posted at the website.
The translation was done after coordination works with Moirangthem Borkeinya who volunteered to gather poems from noted poets like Saratchand Thiyam, Raghu Leishangthem, Thangjam Ibopishak, Yumlembam Ibomcha, Kshetrimayum Subhadini, etc.

When Hueiyen Lanpao contacted the editor of the e magazine Yogesh Vaidya, it is learnt that the editor who is a Gujarati poet himself visited Manipur representing Gujarat in the All India Poetry Festival organised by Sahitya Akademi Delhi during last week of December 2014.It is also learnt that Yogesh and his team took four and a half months to complete the translation works in May 2015.Mention may also be made that the Manipuri poems Yogesh translated were the translated version of Manipuri poems available in English version.

The venture which the Gujarati e - magazine is taking up is named a - building the bridge.
The poets here felt that the translation of their works in Gujarati language for wider audience is a good opportunity.
The e magazine https://yogish.co.in has been running since the last four years and the online portal is exposing the heartfelt words of the Manipuri poets on various issues and topics including social cultural perspectives.
