World No Tobacco Day observed

As in other parts of the globe, World No Tobacco Day was observed in different places of the State by various organizations today.
Coalition Against Drugs and Alcohol (CADA) along with Nepra Menjor Pukhri Mapal Youth Development Association (NMPMYDA) jointly observed World No Tobacco Day at Nepra Menjor Community Hall, Sagolband here today under the theme "Ban Tobacco Advertising, Promotion and Sponsorship".
Speaking on the occasion as Chief Guest, MLA RK Imo pointed out that people continue to use tobacco and tobacco products in public places even though it has been banned by an order of the Supreme Court of India.

He further pointed out that complete ban on use of tobacco will not be an easy job to accomplish until and unless the manufacturing units of tobacco products are banned first of all.
Along with banning of tobacco products, the youths should also be made aware of the ill effects of tobacco use.
Presided over by Kh Bira, President of NMPMYDA, the function was also attended by Arambam Rabindra, President of CADA and S Tiken, Councillor of Ward number 10 as Guests of Honour.
