AR extends medical balm

Imphal, December 30 2013: 18 SIKH of 9 Sector AR under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) in collaboration with SRL Diagnostics and RIMS Hospital carried out multi-specialty Medical Camp at PHC, Khumbong village in Imphal West district under 'OP Sadbhavana' on 30 Dec 2013.The primary objective of the camp was to provide specialist care to locals and also to spread awareness about the various diseases and their prevention.

The camp was inaugurated by Brigadier MK Das, SM**, VSM, Commander 9 Sector Assam Rifles in the presence of Commanding Officer of 18 SIKH, CMO Imphal West district and Headman of the village.

Medical team of 18 SIKH and two teams of nine specialists from SRL Diagnostics and RIMS hospital provided the requisite medical care to the locals.

A variety of medical facilities like X-ray, Ultrasound, Laboratory for testing of blood, sugar, ECG and Hepatitis diagnosis as well as ophthalmic OPD was set up to facilitate eye care were catered for the locals.

A total of 900 patients including men, women, elders and children of Khumbong village and adjoining villages were treated/diagnosed during the camp.

The patients with much severe symptoms were referred to government medical hospitals/ RIMS.

The event was a Mega Success both in terms of achieving its objective of prevention of diseases as well as in strengthening the bond of brotherhood between the Security Forces and the local populace, according to a statement issued by PRO IGAR (S) .
