Imphal, July 30 2015:
Joint Committee on Inner Line Permit System (JCILPS) Student Wing on Thursday threatened the launch of a series of agitations if the Government failed to release all the detained students.
They were held in connection with the ILPS movement.
"The State Government is not heeding to the demand for release of the students by July 30 and it has compelled us to launch agitations," JCILPS Student Wing Convenor Nandakumar announced in a press meet.
The Government should own up responsibility for any untoward incident during the protests which are set to take up by the Student Wing, he warned.
About the proposed ILPS Bill, the Student Wing leader accused the Government of trying to sideline the issue after assuring the people that the Bill would be ready soon.
He said the state needs an ILPS Bill that can safeguard the interests of the indigenous people.
Nandakumar said the Government is not willing to suspend all the police personnel involved in Sapam Robinhood's killing.
He also announced that the Student Wing will boycott all ministers and MLAs and appealed all students in the State not to take part in the coming Independence Day celebration.
A non-cooperation movement will be started against all non-locals in the State, he said and urged the people not to extend any kind of help to non-Manipuris.
He also sought cooperation from the people in its agitation against the Government.
