Imphal, March 30 2019:
Pointing out that it is the right of the people to choose the candidates they prefer, the All Tribal Rights Protection Forum Manipur (ATRPFM) has appealed to all the voters to give their valuable votes in favour of a candidate who will represent them in the Parliament with a clean mind and just heart.
A press release issued by the general secretary of the association informed that altogether 8 candidates have filed their nominations for the coming 17th Lok Sabha election in respect of the Outer Manipur Parliamentary Constituency and explained that the association understands that contesting an election involves huge finance, time and energy.
Wishing the best to all the candidates who want to represent the people and serve them in the Parliament, ATRPFM appealed to all the voters to give their valuable votes in favour of the candidate who is the most just and sincere.
It is absolutely within the purview of one's right to choose the candidate who has the best integrity and additionally, as almost all the tribals are Christians, preference needs to be given to the one who is religious and not a communal politician, it added.
ATRPFM further continued that there are many politicians who play with the lives of the public and exploit the innocent voters and create communal conflicts which serve no positive purpose at all.
Communal conflicts do not give any benefits to the people at large but for their selfish political gains, these politicians brainwashed the otherwise peacefully coexisting individuals from different communities, it said adding that all voters must choose their representative wisely.
If one fails to do so, then one has no right to blame the MP in future even if the MP fails to act as per the people's wishes.
In the past, MPs whom the public chose, never worked for the welfare of the people, the association explained and appealed to all the voters to cast their votes properly in the coming MP Lok Sabha election so as to ensure no future blame game.
Appealing for peace and tranquillity during the coming election, ATRPFM mentioned that many problems in Manipur, mainly the divide and rule policy among the Meiteis and the tribals, are all created by some few politicians with selfish thoughts and appealed to the people to cast their votes for the right candidates.
