Indian Army organises workshop on "Psychological first aid"

To support the mental wellbeing, specially of students and women, the Indian Army organised a workshop on "Psychological First Aid" across schools and villages in Imphal East district According to a release issued by PIB (Defence Wing), the initiative was held to raise awareness about mental health, reduce stigma and equip participants with coping mechanisms to handle stress effectively.
The workshop was conducted from December 26-29, 2024, by Dr Rachana Ghosh, a distinguished Psychologist and Assistant Professor at Christ University, Bengaluru.
She specialises in social and political psychology.
Dr Ghosh led the interactive sessions focused on emotional resilience, stress management, and building positive self-esteem.
The sessions were held at Sacred Hearts School, Yairipok, Saraswati Bal Vidya Mandir, Andro and with the Meira Paibis from Andro.
The sessions provided participants with tools to create positive environments within their families and communities.
Teachers, students, and community members actively engaged in discussions, gaining valuable insights on mental health and resilience.
