High court seeks more information on Kamalbabu

Imphal, November 29 2024:
Chief justice D Krishnakumar and justice Golmei Gaiphulsillu Kabui of the High Court of Manipur on Friday conducted hearing on the petition filed in connection with the missing of Laishram Kamalkumar inside the 57th Mountain Division campus at Leimakhong and directed listed respondents to submit additional reports on December 3 .
During the hearing, counsel for respondents said massive search operation to locate and rescue the missing man is underway.
Further, the counsel reported to the court that Sekmai police station has registered an FIR under different Sections of BNS and Arms Act and started investigation.
In the same manner, Saparmeina police station also registered an FIR and investigation is on.
Counsel for GOC 57th Mountain Division (respondent No 4) informed that the petitioner has been helping respondent department fully and prayed before the court for giving some time for furnishing additional reports regarding the missing case.
The court approved the prayer and informed the respondent to submit additional reports in the next hearing on December 3, 2024 .
Notably, a writ petition was filed at High Court of Manipur with a prayer for safe and sound production of Laishram Kamalbabu Singh, who went missing inside Leimakhong army camp on November 25.The writ petition was filed by Laishram Brajabanshi, son of late Kumardhan Singh of Leimakhong Ex-servicemen colony as petitioner with the state of Manipur represented by the chief secretary, security advisor, DGP Manipur, and GOC 57 Mountain Division of Leimakhong, commissioner (home), SP Imphal West and Sekmai PS OC as respondents.
Brajabanshi is the younger brother Kamalbabu (56) of Gosaipur, Assam presently residing at Loitang Khunou, Imphal West.
