Roots of conflict between patients' party and health workers discussed

Shija Academy of Nursing (SAN) held its 9th oath taking ceremony of General Nursing Midwifery (GNM) with Prof..NShyamo, Director, Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS) as chief guest.
During the function, 27 new nurses were administered the 'The Nightingale Pledge' to mark their entry into the nursing profession.
Delivering his speech, Prof Shyamo observed that the ever increasing phenomenon of conflict between the patients' family members and practitioners of health is due to non-adherence to Medical Ethics by the people.
Efforts should be made to avoid the conflict, said Prof Shyamo and advised that health professional should strive to work with a sense of dedication towards the people.
He said the primary task of nursing profession is to take care of the patients with love.
Dr Kh Palin in his presidential speech said that when the initiatives of 'Look East Policy' bore fruit and establish good neighbourly relationship with South East Asian countries; health and tourism sector in Manipur would be immensely benefitted.
He also pointed out that Manipur has quality health institutes like the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) and Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS).
People from neighbouring countries will come to these health institutes to avail the health facilities, he further added.
