Defunct Gramodyog Bhavan reopened

Commerce & Industries Minister Govindas Konthoujam today re-opened the once defunct Gramodyog Bhawan located within the complex of Manipur Handloom and Handicraft Development Corporation Limited at Paona Bazar here.
The function was organized by Manipur Khadi and Village Industries Board, Lamphelpat.
Speaking at the reopening ceremony as Chief Guest, Govindas stated that though Khadi and Village Industries Board lacks adequate funds, yet it has been performing its duties efficiently.
The Minister announced that the State Government has given approval for constructing the Bhawan building at the site where the state Central Library situated earlier and assured that Rs 10 lakh would be sanctioned from the Handloom Division during the current fiscal year for sustenance of the Gramodyog Bhawan until it was shifted to its permanent site.
The Minister expressed hope that revival of the Gramodyog Bhawan would solve the problem of non-availability of markets for selling different goods produced by beneficiaries of PMEGP in the state and appealed to the public to give support in promoting such eco-friendly khadi products.
Presided over by Principal Secretary of Commerce and Industries O Nabakishore, the function was also attended by Director of Commerce and Industries B John Thanglinkhuma; Vice Chairman of Manipur Khadi and Village Industries Board S Achouba and its Secretary S Ingobi as Guests of Honour.
Commerce and Industries Principal Secretary O Nabakishore and Director B John Tlangtin Khuma and Manipur Khadi and Village Industries Board Vice Chairman S Achouba and Secretary S Ingobi also attended the function.
