Imphal, April 26 2015 : Works & Transport Minister Kh Ratankumar, on Sunday said that the society needs to do more to uplift the differently able persons.

Minister Ratan speaking as the Chief Guest in the distribution of relief materials to the disables persons, widows and old ages persons organised by Chirai Apunba Committee which was held at Chairai, Imphal West.

He said physically challenged persons have great talents in different ways which will contribute to our society.

Ratan appealed to the parents of the physically challenged children not to depress themselves for their children because many physically challenged persons have become world famous figures.

Minister further appealed to uplift the weaker section of the society to ensure balanced development which will create peace and unity in the society.

Mayang Imphal Municipal Council, Chairperson Th Rajmoham Meitei, MLA Md Fazurahim and Mayang Imphal Municipal Council, Councilor Ward No.3 A Memthoi Leima attended as President and Guest of Honours respectively.

Wheel chairs, hearing aids and others appliances were distributed to Physically Challenged persons, widows and old age persons in the programme.
