Imphal, November 25 2021:
CPI Manipur State Council would be organising a series of protests against alleged anti people policy of BJP and RSS from November 26 to December 6 in different parts of the state.
In a statement, CPI Manipur State Council accused the Modi government and the RSS of framing several new policies that undermine and threaten the Constituency, democracy, secularism and federalism.
The BJP government is suppressing the dissent voice of the public by arresting several columnists, intellectuals, opposition leaders and human rights activists under the British-era 'Sedition Law'.
The Modi government has been violating the freedom of expression, freedom to life and democratic values with its anti-people policies, the statement said.
It further contended that crimes against backward classes, Dalit and tribal women are increasing under the Modi government.
Victims of these crimes are living in abject situation in the absence of social justice.
The 11-day protest is to take a stand against such anti-people policies, and to save democracy, Constitution and secularism, the statement said while calling upon the right thinking people of the state to support the protest.
