Heavy vehicles banned along JT road

Jiribam, November 25 2018:
Plying of heavy vehicles along the Jiri-Tipaimukh road will be banned from the midnight of Monday, November 26,2018 for indefinite period of time.
The step was taken by JAC for Development of Jiri-Tipaimukh road after a meeting was held today at the Echel Club, Dibong which was participated by the representatives of various clubs, NGOs and Meira Paibis.
The press communique of the JAC for Development of Jiri-Tipaimukh road stated that they have already appealed the concerned authority and State Government to restore the Jiri-Tipaimukh road on or before November 25, 2018.Since no positive response was given by the authorities, the JAC took up the step to stop plying of heavy vehicles (6 wheels vehicles) from Irabot statue to Jiri-Tipaimukh road as a initial step of their agitation, they added.
The JAC also cautioned that if the concerned authority and Govt fail to restore the JT road at the earliest then the JAC will launch various form of agitation including Jiribam bandh and economic blockade along NH-37 .
