Kabui Union condoles demise of Gaichui

Imphal, July 25 2022: Kabui Union, Manipur on Monday condoled the death of former Kabui programme announcer of AIR Imphal Gaichui Kamsonpui Kabui, who breathed her last in a New Delhi hospital on July 21 .

In a release, the Union recounted that Gaichui joined All India Radio Imphal in 1963 as the first woman Kabui programme announcer.

She had been undergoing treatment in Dharshila Narayana Speciality Hospital but passed on July 21, aged 84 years.

A condolence programme attended by members of KUM, All Manipur Kabui Students' Union, All Manipur Kabui Women's Organisation and Kabui Customary Council was held at the office Kabui Union at Mahabali Kabui Village in Imphal West during which the participants observed two minutes' silence as a mark of respect to the departed soul.
