MLA announces awards to up vaccination rate

Calling upon all eligible persons in Sagolband assembly constituency to come out for vaccination so as to curb the spread of Covid-19, Sagolband A/C MLA Rk Imo has announced that awards will be given to three localities or polling stations which record the highest vaccination rate by the end of August.
A reward of Rs 50,000, Rs 30,000 and Rs 20,000 respectively will be given to the best three local committees/clubs.
In a release, MLA Rk Imo stated that the second phase of mass Covid vaccination programme in respect of Sagolband A/C commenced at Bijoy Govinda Centre.
The main aim of the vaccination programme is to make sure that all the people who are above 18 years of age get the Covid vaccine.
Assuring vaccination to all the eligible persons at the centre, he also said that apart from a mobile vaccination centre set up at Tera Amudon on Friday, the inoculation drive will continue at Thangjam Leirak and Ingudam Leirak on June 26 and at LDA Soibam Leikai on June 28 .
MLA Rk Imo continued that around 50 per cent of the eligible people have already been vaccinated but there are some localities with poor vaccination rate.
As such, mobile vaccination camps would be conducted at different localities apart from the designated vaccination site at Bijoy Govinda till complete vaccination is achieved.
He also lauded the Health Department staffers and DC Imphal West for coordinating and making the vaccination programme possible.
