Good Governance Week observed in IW, Kangpokpi

Kangpokpi district administration observed Good Governance Week, which is held every year from December 19 to 25, at the DC's conference hall on Tuesday.
Speaking on the occasion, deputy commissioner Mahesh Chaudhari emphasised the significance of celebrating the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna and former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
The DC also stressed on the importance of good governance in effective administration and reflected on various initiatives such as e-district and e-service, which are aimed at providing easy access to government schemes for the public.
He also highlighted the relentless efforts of the district administration in providing transparent, efficient, and accountable services to citizens while also efficiently resolving any issues in a timely manner.
The DC also took the opportunity to emphasise the importance of utilising technology in improving administrative processes.
As part of this initiative, he handed over five laptops to five administration officers, symbolising the commitment to modernise and streamline government operations.
The event was attended by Kangpokpi ADC/ADM Shok-hongam Baite, T Waichong SDO Hemant Kumar, Cham-phai SDO Lalmminlal Simte, other districts administration officer and district level officers (DLOs) .
Meanwhile, Imphal West district administration conducted a one-day workshop on Good Governance Initiative as part of the nationwide observance of Good Governance Week (GGW) � 'Prashasan Gaon Ki Ore' 2024 campaign at Kombirei Hall of DC Office Complex, Lamphelpat on Tuesday.
As per a release, the workshop was attended by IW DC Th Kirankumar, ADC/ADM Keisham Jadumani Singh, other district administration officers, and DLOs.
DC Kirankumar encouraged all the departments and officers to ensure that services are transparent, accountable, effective, and accessible to the general public.
He said that in order to make the DC's Office more disabled friendly, process is underway to dismantle a part of the office stairs and make a ramp.
Kirankumar also revealed plans to visit one school every week to address grievances of the schools located in the district.
The DC further maintained that good governance is not to be celebrated only for a week but continued throughout the year so as to ensure that good governance is delivered to the public.
During the workshop, the ADM also highlighted the various developmental activities and benefits given by the various different departments to the public in the district.
