Govt committed to tap tourism potentials: Lukhoi

Tourism minister Oinam Lukhoi Singh has stated that the state government under the guidance of chief minister N Biren Singh is committed to providing the best tourism infrastructure and facilities in all the districts of the state through the Department of Tourism.
The minister made the announcement during his inspection tour of various projects taken up by the Tourism Department in Churachandpur district on Thursday.
During the visit, minister Lukhoi inspected the Integrated Tourist Circuit - Imphal to Tuima, Manipur (Khuga Dam), Integrated Tourist Circuit of Chullouphai - Ngaloimol & Sangaikot and Integrated Tourist Destination of Eco-Tourism Complex at Mata Mualtam Hide Out Park.
Lukhoi informed that all possible measures are being taken up by the government to boost the tourism sector of the state in all the districts of Manipur.
He called for public cooperation for proper maintenance of the tourism infrastructure developed by the government to further enhance the components of the tourist spots.
He also stated that his Thursday's visit was mainly to check various non-functional tourist facilities and to ensure that they are transformed into popular tourism destinations, adding that Manipur government under the guidance of chief minister Biren is committed to providing the best tourism infrastructure and facilities in all the districts of the state through the Department of Tourism.
The state government has constructed various tourist lodges and guest houses at various places in the district like Singngat and Behiang, a village on the Indo-Myanmar border, and also at Tuima, Ngaloi, Chullouphai and others on the outskirts of Churachandpur town, he said.
The minister also visited a tourist lodge constructed at Hide Out Park located at Mualtam village area and Chullouphai tourist lodge.
During the inspection, he was accompanied by Singhat (Singngat) MLA Ginsuanhau Zou, additional chief secretary tourism P Vaiphei, director tourism Ibohal Singh, DC Churachandpur Pawan Yadav and officials of MDS and tourism departments.
