Bus drivers protest

Imphal, March 24 2017:
Wrath over forcible eviction of parking space for passenger buses from Nityapat Chuthek in front of state BJP office without prior notification, bus drivers today thronged to the parking area at their buses and left there obstructing even the entrance gate of the state BJP office at around 11 am today.
Spokesperson of the Indo-Burma Sugnu Road Bus Owners' Welfare Union while speaking to media persons said that some personnel who identified themselves as authorities of the state transport department today came at around 7 am and asked all the buses to vacate the parking space without any prior notification.

Over 80 passenger buses which run almost at every nook and corner of the state utilized the Nityapat Chuthek roadside space as parking area since the last many years.
After parking the buses at the parking space that is located in front of the state BJP office, the drivers left the place.
Spokesperson of the Union said that no communication has been made from the side of the Transport department, Government of Manipur and until the matter has been clarified the union will continue its protest, he added.
