Rare operation conducted at Ccpur DH

CCpur, January 24 2018: In a record of sort Dr M Nando Singh, the Orthopaedic Surgeon at the District Hospital Churachandpur yesterday successfully conducted 'Illizarov fixation' on a 4-year-old-girl with Congenital Pseudoarthrosis Tibia with Angular Deformity leg.

The procedures, sources said, are rarely conducted in Government run District Hospitals across the state, and may possibly be the first.

A few weeks back, Deputy Commissioner Shyam Lal Poonia had undergone minor operations at the same department in the hospital.

It may also be recalled here that a handful of Doctors had in the past underwent surgery in the hospital amply demonstrating their faith in the service they have rendered to the public, instread of opting for more sophisticated and better hospitals at Imphal or outside.
