Committee instituted to co-ordinate Central Projects

Imphal, October 22 2012: The Central Sector Projects Coordination Committee has been instituted for monitoring the implementation of the Central sponsored projects in the state with the Chief Secretary, Government of Manipur as Chairman.

It is said that the Committee shall coordinate with the Central Project schemes for mitigating the time cost overruns in Central Projects in the State; meet once in three months and report to the Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation.

The Committee may invite any officer to attend meeting and that the Departments concerned shall prepare the background notes for the discussion in the meeting of the Committee.

The members of the Committee include Addl Chief Secretary (CAF & PD), Government of Manipur; Principal Secretary (Forest & Envt), Government of Manipur; Principal Secretary (Rehabilitation), Government of Manipur; Principal Secretary(Home), Government of Manipur; Principal Secretary (Works), Government of Manipur; Commissioner (Power), Government of Manipur; Commissioner (Revenue), Government of Manipur; Secretary, Manipur Pollution Control Board; State L:evel; Coordinator, IOC, Imphal; Area Manager, FCI, Manipur; Chief Engineer, NHPC and Commander 25 BRTF.

Director (Planning), Manipur will be the Member Secretary of the Committee.

On the other hand, the Programme Committee has been constituted in the Planning Department, Government of Manipur with the Principal Secretary (C & I) as the Chairperson for preparation of participation in the 2nd India-ASEAN Business Conclave scheduled to be held from December 18 to 20 at New Delhi.

The Committee shall liaise with ICC and other Governmental and Non-Governmental agencies in respect of participation in the 2nd India-ASEAN business Conclave at New Delhi.

It may also co-opt/invite other representative/officials as may be necessary.

The members of the Committee include Principal Secretary (Finance), Government of Manipur; Principal Secretary (Forest and Environment), Government of Manipur; Commissioner (Power), Government of Manipur; Commissioner (IT), Government of Manipur; Joint Director (K), Planning Dept, Manipur.
