CPI too come out in protest

Imphal, October 21 2011:
The Communist Party of India, Manipur State Council a partner of Congress led SPF government, too came out protesting against the price rise and the present situation of the state on Friday.
Manipur State Council, CPI workers took out a rally and staged a sit-in-protest in the four valley districts of Manipur and submitted a memorandum to the Prime Minister through the respective Deputy Commissioners.
The memorandum includes, bringing amicable solution to the Sadar Hill district issue and for immediate deployment for Highway Protection Forces on National Highways 39 and 37 to end the present economic blockade.
And for passing strong Lokpal Bill in the winter session of the Parliament to check corruption.
To take immediate steps to roll back price rise of essential commodities and Measures to check poll related violence.

The memorandum further stated that the economic blockade on both the N.H 39 & 37 have entered the third month and it has caused immense suffering to the people.
For any demand by a particular group there is always a tendency to resort to blockade on the National highways but so far the Central government has not taken up any positive action to stop.
To bring the present turmoil to normalcy is immediate deployment of Highway Protection Force.
The memorandum further added Manipur is going to Poll (General Election) within the nest few months, it is pertinent to highlight the possible poll related violence including gun fights.
Strict measures must be taken to prevent such kind of violence and take punitive actions the culprits.
