In a release, NPO said that as per a meeting held between the NPO and CoTU along with its advisory board at the NPO's Senapati town office on July 18, CoTU tendered apology for the extreme atrocities meted out to Naga commuters along the NH-2 .
A mutual agreement was also arrived at wherein CoTU agreed to ensure that there would be no unnecessary frisking and harassment to commuters along the highway, no extortion on Naga commercial vehicles and in case of impromptu imposition of total shutdown or blockade the said agitation would not affect the Naga commuters.
The Kuki leaders agreed to look into the matter and address them within seven days failing which, the NPO may be compelled to take up agitation to counter their non-compliance.
In this regard, the SDSA has been directed to call off their on-going agitation.
