Imphal, November 20 2011: Maintaining that the safety of innocent general public should be the utmost priority of all the armed groups, a consultative leaders' meeting organized by KHoupum Area Peace Forum (KAPF) at Majorkhul community hall here yesterday has desided to intervene in the ongoing armed conflict between NSCN (IM) and ZUF.

Attended by representatives of various Zeliangrong civil organizations and social workers, the meeting also called on both groups to refrain from confrontation in public places and avoid inflicting casualties of innocent public and also appealed for peace and harmony in the interest of Zelinagrong public.

Furthermore, while drawing the attention of all concerned in the ongoing armed conflict in Khoupum area, the meeting resolved to invite other apex civil societies of Nagas like Naga Hoho, UNC, FNR, ZB, AZSU, ZU, AZSUM, RLP, KAMA, ZYF, etc for involvement in the initiative being taken up.
