CM Ibobi appeals for peace

Manipur Chief Minister Okram Ibobi on Thursday urged the people to help bring peace and tranquility in the State.
He was speaking at the 71st birth anniversary observation day of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi at the Banquet Hall of 1st MR here.
The Chief Minister attended the function as Chief Guest.
During his address, Ibobi also reminded that the birth anniversary of the former Prime Minister of India has been observed as Sadbhavana Diwas in every part of India with the message of harmony, peace and national integration.
One of the most beloved Prime Minister of India, Rajiv Gandhi was named by his father Jawaharlal Nehru as Rajiv Ratan Gandhi, recalled the Chief Minister and said that when Jawaharlal Nehru became the Prime Minister of India, Rajiv Gandhi was just about three years old and known as Mid-Night Children.
Mentioning that Rajiv Gandhi, to reform the Higher Education in modern way declared the National Education Policy in 1986, the Chief Minister also added that the former Prime Minister brought many changes in Information Technology, Telecom and signed Punjab Accord and Assam Accord in 1985 and later Mizo Accord in 1986 .
