Assam Rifles celebrated World Chess Day at Molcham village in Chandel district by conducting a chess tournament and a chess class.
A press release by the Assam Rifles said that the event drew 20 participants from seven neighbouring villages, creating a vibrant atmosphere of strategic thinking and community spirit.
Led by an Assam Rifles Officer, the chess class provided insights into various strategies and techniques, from opening moves to endgame tactics.
These sessions were designed to enhance participants' understanding of chess and inspire a deeper appreciation for the game's intellectual challenges.
The tournament featured intense chess matches, where participants meticulously planned their moves and anticipated their opponents' strategies.
Each game showcased tactical prowess and sportsmanship and the spectators from the local community cheering their champions adding liveliness to the event.
