Best Head of Department Award conferred to Dr M Marjit

New Delhi, February 20 2021: Dr Moirangthem Marjit Singh has been presented the "Best Head of Department Award" in Computer Science & Engineering in the 2nd Universal Innovators Leadership Awards (UILA-2021) held along with an International Conference on Innovative Computing and Communication (ICICC-2021) virtually at Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies, New Delhi in association with NIT Patna and University of Valladolid, Spain today.

The award was given in recognition of his excellence in leadership and management.

The function was graced by Prof KK Aggarwal, Chairman National Board of Accreditation as the chief guest and many eminent academicians around the world joined the program online.

Dr Moirangthem Marjit Singh is currently the Head of Department, Computer Science & Engineering at North Eastern Regional Institute of Science & Technology (NERIST), a deemed to be university under Ministry of Education, Govt of India, Arunachal Pradesh.

Earlier, Dr Marjit was awarded the IE(I) Young Engineers Award 2014-2015 in the Computer Engineering Division, Institution of Engineers (India) and received the Best Paper Award in ICACCT 2016 International Conference (published by Springer).

He is a fellow of IETE New Delhi, India, senior member IEEE (USA) and member of many technical bodies in India and abroad.

Dr M Marjit did his schooling at JNV Thoubal, Manipur.

He secured 1st and 2nd positions in the Class X and XII examinations amongst the candidates of JNVs of eight North-Eastern States under CBSE New Delhi, in 1995 and 1997 respectively.

He received BTech and MTech in Computer Science & Engineering degrees from NERIST and was awarded Gold Medal for securing top position in MTech.

He received his PhD (Engineering) degree in Computer Science and Engineering from University of Kalyani, West Bengal.

Dr M Marjit is a resident of Khangabok Cherapur Leikai, Manipur.
