CM relishes successful treatment of heart patients

The successful implementation of life-saving treatment to heart patients under Chief Ministergi Hakselgi Tengbang (CMHT) and Ayushman Bharat (PM-JAY) Scheme for three years was celebrated on Friday at Sangai Hall of Classic Hotel organised by Sky Hospital.
During the function, chief minister N Biren Singh said there is still the need to monitor and manage things at the micro - level if state has to achieve progress and development.
He said a total of 266 heart surgeries had been successfully done till date, where 175 patients were treated under CMHT and 91 patients under Ayushman Bharat at Sky Hospital alone.
In this regard, he lauded Dr L Shyamkishore Singh, the chairman and chief cardiologist of Sky Hospital and his team for their dedication in St ving the needy, stating that service to mankind is service to god.
The CM recalled that CMHT was conceived through his experience of meeting many people who could not afford medical treatment due to poverty during his career as a journalist and a politician.
Biren also said he came across many such cases while interacting with the public on Hill Leaders' Day and Meeyamgi Numit.
As such, he passed the idea to the officials concerned, and they designed the scheme as is seen today.
So far, over 4 lakh people have enrolled under the scheme, he added.
Maintaining that there is a need to keep every single citizen of the state healthy, Biren also said the state government launched 'CM's Health for All' scheme to provide timely health check-up facility to all the people of the state at their doorsteps.
It would enable them to start early treatment if they are detected with any ailment, he added.
Chief minister N Biren also clarified on alleged slow file processing in State Secretariat as complained by a panellist in a TV discussion.
He said e-Office File Management system is currently put into practice in the state for swifter file process and that traditional paper work or dak system is being used for a few cases only.
Advisor to CM (Health) Dr Sapam Ranjan Singh and chairman of Sky Group of Hospitals Dr L Shyamkishore Singh attended the event as guest of honour and president respectively.
CM also cut cake together with the children who have been recovered from heart disease after surgery to celebrate their new lives.
Their parents also shared testimonials on how CMHT and Ayushman Bharat supported them in getting treatment for their wards.
They presented gifts to CM and thanked him for introducing the scheme.
