IPPI: Chandel targets to cover 21,128 kids in 4 blocks

Chandel, January 19 2014 :
As part of the Nation-wide campaign, the first round of Intensified Pulse Polio Immunization for Chandel district was inaugurated by Chief Medical Officer Dr S Ibomcha Singh at the District Hospital complex today.
District Immunization Officer Chandel Dr Ngoru Romy, Chairperson of District Health Management Society Hb Kobor and a team of medical staffs including doctors and nurses were also present during the inaugural function organized by the District Medical department.
Briefing media, CMO Dr S Ibomcha informed that 276 IPPI booths have been opened in different part to cover 21128 children in five blocks namely Chandel, Chakpikarong, Machi, Moreh and Tengnoupal.
There are 98965 population, 392 villages, 15927 household in the three blocks of Chandel, Chakpikarong and Machi.
ASHAs and Anganwadi workers are deployed along with supervisors in these booths to monitor administration of pulse polio drops.
From tomorrow, home visit will start.
Supervisor of IPPI Tovir Ngoruh, who is also the District Community Mobilizer, informed that out of the 55 booths in Chandel block, 32 booths have done well in the first round of IPPI campaign.
