UNC grateful to Tamenglong public

Imphal, December 18 2012: United Naga Council (UNC) has acknowledged the cooperation and solidarity of the general public of Tamenglong District towards making the call to abstain from participating in the state sponsored Orange festival a significant success.

In a statement issued by its Publicity Wing, UNC maintained that the mass abstention speaks out loud and clear of the peoples' sentiment for an alternative arrangement outside the Government of Manipur.

"We also congratulate All Naga Students' Association Manipur(ANSAM) and its constituent units, the Zeliangrong Youth Front(AMN), Zeliangrong Baudi(Manipur), other Zeliangrong organisations and leaders of political parties for effectively campaigning for the boycott of the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister of Manipur in the Orange festival", the statement added.
