Imphal, November 18 2017: Chief Minister N Biren presented Thiyam Leirikmacha International Award to cultural and language activist from Bangladesh, Thokchom Anil Kishan Singh.

The award presentation ceremony was held at the Cabinet Hall of Chief Minister's Secretariat with N Biren Singh as the chief guest today.

President of Bangladesh Manipuri Sahitya Sangsad, AK Sheram graced the occasion as the special guest.

The award carries a cash prize of Rs 10,000 along with a citation and a shawl.

Thokchom Anil Kishan Singh is the fourth recipient of the award instituted by Sahitya Thoupang Lup.

Speaking at the occasion, Biren said that the State Government would never compromise on culture, language and identity of Manipur.
