Women vendors take out rally against TMC

Thoubal, August 18 2018: Voicing their dissent against the sloppy approach of Thoubal Municipal Council in keeping Thoubal market neat and clean, women vendors of Thoubal market took out a protest rally from Thoubal Keithel to DC office Thoubal demanding garbage removal, regular supply of electricity and opening of the toilets which have been reportedly locked by the authorities of TMC.

In the protest rally, many slogans were raised against the DC.

However, the protesters decided to continue their protest at Thoubal Keithel after DC Thoubal H Rosita assured them that she will personally assess the condition of the market.

One of the protestors alleged that women vendors had earlier vandalized a newly constructed portion of Thoubal Keithel built by TMC on August 12 in protest against the conduct of the Council.

Consequently, TMC has locked the toilets, cut the power supply and has stopped all the cleaning activities in the market.
