Loumi Marup convenes 24th Patsoi conference

Imphal, July 17 2022: The 24th Patsoi local conference of Manipur Loumi Marup was held on Sunday at Patsoi Part - 2 Mayai Leikai community hall.

The conference was attended by Manipur Loumi Marup president Yumlembam Yogendro, vice president Nongmaithem Thoiba and Taorem Manihar as presidium members.

CPI (M) Manipur secretary Ksh Shanta, who also attended the conference, said that government must help fanners in crop production but it was very unfortunate that government is unable to provide urea fertilizer and other requirements to farmers in time.

It was due to government's wrong policy that urea and other farming requirements were not provided to farmers in time, he said and urged government to revoke the decision to collect GST from milk.

He also announced that Manipur will join the nationwide protest to be launched by Dairy Farmers Federation of India on July 27 against GST collection from milk.

The conference later unanimously appointed Thounaojam Sarat as president of Manipur Loumi Marup Patsoi local, Thongam Jiten as general secretary and Loktongbam Sanatomba as treasurer.
