Assam Rifles organises essay writing competition

Imphal, July 16 2019: Somsai Battalion of 10 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (S) organised an English essay writing competition at Brighter English School in Poi, a remote village near Indo-Myanmar border today.

A total of 50 students participated in the event.

In order to give an indepth insight into the rich culture and legacy, "Our Culture" and "Our Festivals" were choosen as the topics of the competition.

The competition was followed by a prize distribution and culminated with refreshments for the students.

The event was aimed at encouraging and motivating the students to improve their knowledge and adapt extracurricular activities as part of their learning process, said a press release issued by IGAR (S).

In an endeavour to help out the young generation, a donation of Rs 1500 was also made for purchasing of books for the school library, it added.
