MPCC stages protest at Raj Bhavan gate

Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) continued to launch different forms of agitation against repeated summoning of AICC president Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) .
As part of the agitation, Congress volunteers and frontal cell members led by MPCC president K Meghachandra and MLA Th Lokeshwar gathered in front of Raj Bhavan here on Thursday and shouted slogans against the ED's repeated summoning of Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi.
A police team tried to stop the Congress volunteers and leaders from moving towards Raj Bhavan but was unable to block the protestors from reaching the main gate where the slogans were raised.
Regarding the protest, MPCC president K Meghachandra told media persons that innocent Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi are being portrayed in front of public as guilty in the National Herald case due to repeated summoning by the ED and Congress party condemns this illegal act of ED.
Congress party also condemns use of ED as a tool of BJP, he said, adding that the ongoing agitation is being launched to save India's unity in diversity and democracy.
He then appealed to all concerned to stop targeting only Congress and Opposition leaders and treat every citizen of the country equally.
According to the MPCC president, India will regress as long as BJP exists and people of the country should join hands for toppling BJP from power.
