Imphal, June 16 2012: The 27 Assam Rifles of 9 Sector under HQ IGAR (South) organised a Painting competition on the theme "Green Manipur" at Chairel Primary School today, according to a press release of PRO IGAR (S) .

Many students participated in the competition with full zeal and enthusiasm.

Winners and other participants were encouraged with a number of motivational prizes.

Officers of 27 Assam Rifles, in their message conveyed their best wishes to the children and termed such an event as the best means of character building and encourages team spirit and exhorted them to focus their energy into creative and positive activities to integrate themselves with the main stream of the country for a better and bright future of Manipur.

In another occasion, 15 Assam Rifles of 9 Sector under HQ IGAR (South) organised an excursion tour for school students of Thoubal District on Jun 15 .

In all 78 students and 11 teachers visited 'Loktak Lake' during the excursion, it added.
