Police takes statement of over 200 villagers in harrowing murder case

CCpur, February 16 2019: The Churachandpur Police have taken statement of over 200 Mata villagers in their bid to crack the ghastly murder case that occurred at the said village two days ago.

Tualkhanlian Khuptong (54) s/o (late) Liankam of Mata village was found murdered with his throat slit and privy part cut off.

With nearly 10 Investigating Officers (IOs) the District Police team headed by Lunzamung Tungnung, MPS, Addl SP (Operation); Shivanand Surve, IPS, SDPO/CCpur and Inspector Ng Anthony Suresh, OC/CCpur PS gathered all male residents from the village at a village's playground at about 11 am and took statement of them.

It is not clear if the police team have accumulated any lead on the case but the victim's family still refused to claim the body.

The family members maintained that they will claim the body only when the culprits are arrested.
