Imphal, January 15 2022:
Southern Naga Youth, Delhi (SNYD) has urged for formation of a common platform of all the Naga MPs and MLAs of Manipur to collectively facilitate an early honourable and acceptable Indo-Naga political solution.
In a letter sent to Outer Manipur MP Lorho S Pfoze on August 27, 2021, SNYD convener Dr Kh Pou stated that the present development of the ongoing Indo-Naga political negotiation has provoked them to implore upon the MP on the immediate need for a proactive role of the Naga elected representatives from Manipur to facilitate an early honourable and acceptable Indo-Naga political solution.
A Core Committee on Naga Political Issue was formed by the elected representatives of Nagaland on July 10, 2021 for the same reason.
The 14 Naga tribes of Nagaland have supported the move, which has sent out a positive message, it noted.
SNYD continued that against this backdrop, they are surprised to notice the collective silence of the Naga elected representatives from Manipur, in this crucial phase of the Naga political journey for self-determination.
It then urged the MP to use his position in bringing coordination among all the elected Naga representatives from Manipur, irrespective of political affiliations under a common platform to collectively facilitate an early Indo-Naga political solution.
Further, the pragmatic approach to Naga political issue demands coordination between the Nafga elected representatives from Manipur and the Core Committee on Naga Political Issue, it conveyed.
SNYD further emphasised that it is high time that the people's representatives collectively convey, in clear terms, to the Government of India the will and wishes of the people they represent and that any solution short of flag, constitution and integration will not be honourable to the people.
