AR celebrates children's day

Imphal, November 14 2019: Different battalions of Assam Rifles have celebrated children's day in various locations of Ukhrul, Tengnoupal and Chandel districts under aegis HQ IGAR (South), today.

Somsai Battalion of 10 Sector Assam Rifles hosted the celebrations at various villages in Ukhrul district, while Assam Rifles located at Poi, Tusom and Awangkasom organised the programs in village schools like Bright English School, Credential Mission School and Tusom CV School, said a press releases issued by IGAR(S).

Moreh Battalion of 26 Sector Assam Rifles organised children's day celebrations at various schools and JJ Children's Home Moreh.

The officers of Moreh battalion visited 8 schools including St George School, Eastern Shine School, Norraine English School, Moreh Govt School, Bethel Public School, Colvins Academy, Mount Moreh School, Herman Jr High School.

Further the officers also visited JJ Children Home along with troops, families of the Moreh Battalion distributed stationary items and sweets to 47 children's including children of the troops, it said and added that the celebration at JJ children home started with prayer by all children followed by speech by the mentors and culminated with distribution of gifts and group photograph.

Joupi Battalion of 26 Sector Assam Rifles organised a motivational talk for the children of Chandel district.

The speech was a sincere effort to motivate children to join Armed Forces.

In an effort to spark every child's imagination and to simulate curiosity, a wide range of interesting books were also distributed to the children, it added.
